Michael Grantham

PhD Student

Michael Grantham is a PhD candidate from Lincoln, Nebraska. Michael received his bachelor’s at UNL in mathematics in 2016 before doing coursework in Data Science at Columbia University in the City of New York. He returned to complete his master’s in Statistics at UNL in the fall of 2020. While at UNL, he taught both calculus-based and non-calculus-based statistics (380 and 218, respectively). He also worked as a research assistant examining polypeptide nonparametric classification problems and using Bayesian modelling for random effects models. Michael’s research interests are quantitative finance, time series, and portfolio management. In his free time, he enjoys lifting weights, playing basketball, and reading history.
