Undergraduate Program

B.S. in Statistics & Data Analytics

Students in statistics learn how to use data to solve problems in a complex world. The degree program offers students the opportunity to formulate an answerable question, develop methodology for data analysis, collect data appropriately, extract evidence from that data, and use statistical reasoning to transform that evidence into information that can be used by enterprises, government, and other stakeholders. Graduates will be able to adapt to an ever-evolving data landscape and use their knowledge to construct novel solutions to challenges that are meaningful for society.

Graduate Program

M.S., Ph.D. in Statistics

Students who have majored in mathematics or statistics and have an interest in applications of these fields or students who have majored in other areas and have a good mathematics background should seriously consider a career in statistics. It is quite common for students to enter a statistics graduate program with only a few statistics courses since statistics is primarily a graduate discipline.

Some of our faculty are involved in collaborative work with other disciplines and offer graduate students a wide range of opportunities to work with individuals in these disciplines and to learn practical applications of statistical principles from direct experience.
