What is Statistics?
Statistics as a discipline is the development and application of methods to collect, analyze and interpret data. Modern statistical methods involve the design and analysis of experiments and surveys, the quantification of biological, social and scientific phenomenon and the application of statistical principles to understand more about the world around us.

Undergraduate Program
B.S. in Statistics & Data Analytics
The degree program in Statistics & Data Analytics is a synthesis of data analysis, statistical thinking, statistical computing, and technical communication skills. The program is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in statistics, machine learning, and data analytics. Graduates will be able to adapt to an ever-evolving data landscape and use their knowledge to construct novel solutions to challenges are meaningful to society.
Undergraduate minor is also available.
Graduate Program
M.S. & Ph.D. in Statistics, Joint Ph.D. in Statistics
The Department of Statistics offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Statistics. Faculty in the Department are involved in research, teaching, and statistical consulting for the entire university. The collaborative work with other disciplines gives graduate students a wide range of opportunities to work with individuals in these disciplines and to learn practical applications of statistical principles from direct experience. In addition, Ph.D. students have the opportunity to pursue a joint major in statistics and a number of other disciplines.
