The Department of Statistics offers introductory courses to acquaint students from all disciplines with the essential elements of statistical thinking. The department offers a minor in statistics, which is a useful complement for many students. In addition, the minor provides background beneficial for graduate study in statistics.
Two minor tracks are available:
Track 1:

Track 1 provides a strong theoretical background in statistics, and Track 2 focuses on hands-on analytical skills. Alternative courses can be substituted, with approval from the Statistics Curriculum Committee. Courses taken for the minor may not be taken Pass/No Pass, and students must earn at least a C to satisfy the minor requirement.
