The field of Statistics has emerged as a truly interdisciplinary study because Statistics lies at the heart of the type of quantitative reasoning necessary for making important decisions related to any field that utilizes data. With the increased development of computing power and the growing availability of vast quantities of digitalized data, there has been widespread statistical activity across all areas of industry. 

Statisticians are in high demand in all sectors of society, ranging from government, business and industry, to universities and research labs. With a projected 32% growth (Bureau of Labor Statistics) in employment between 2022-2032, the study of Statistics has become a critical discipline in today's world. Opportunities for statisticians are expected to grow rapidly in the coming years in fields ranging from biomedicine, environmental science, social science, human rights work and counterterrorism.
