Kelsey holds a Ph.D. and Master's degree in Statistics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Originally from Omaha, NE, she also earned her Bachelor's degree in the Department of Mathematics at UNL. During her time in the program, she taught introductory statistics and statistical consulting and contributed significantly to the development and growth of the SC3L Statistical Cross-disciplinary Collaboration and Consulting Lab (SC3L). This initiative involved collaborating with colleagues and experts, particularly in the fields of agriculture and natural resources across CASNR and IANR.

Kelsey's doctoral research focused on experimental design and analysis, specifically addressing microbiome data related to gut health. She currently serves as a Biomedical Data Scientist at the Biostatistics Consulting and Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration Lab (Biostat CIRCL) within the University of Kentucky's Department of Biostatistics. In this role, she continues her dedication to interdisciplinary research, applying statistical expertise to the realm of biomedical sciences.
