Although applying for scholarships is often a time consuming activity, it can be potentially rewarding - not just monetarily, but for your resume. There are many scholarships offered by the statistics professional societies. Below are a few:

Edward C. Bryant Scholarship Trust Fund Award - Awarded to students studying survey statistics
Gertrude Cox Scholarship - Awarded to encourage women to enter the statistics profession
Ellis R. Ott Scholarship - For students interested in applied statistics and quality management (Michelle Quinlan, UNL PhD student, won in 2007 and 2008)
National Science Foundation's Research Fellowship - For new graduate students
American Statistical Association list
